Use Hide My Email
Apple's Hide My Email creates unique, random email addresses that forward to your personal inbox. Use it everywhere.
Actions
- 1 Open Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud
- 2 Tap 'Hide My Email'
- 3 Tap 'Create New Address' when signing up for services
- 4 Or use 'Sign in with Apple' which auto-generates hidden emails
- 5 Review your created addresses and deactivate any for services you no longer use
Context
Your email address is a universal identifier that companies use to track you across services and link your accounts together. Data breaches regularly expose email addresses, leading to spam and phishing attacks. Hide My Email solves this by generating unique random addresses for each service. If one gets compromised or starts sending spam, you can disable just that address without affecting your real inbox.
Using unique email addresses prevents cross-service tracking and limits breach exposure to individual services.
