Community Guidelines
Last updated: May 7, 2026
Core Principles
- Be lawful — follow applicable laws and regulations
- Be authentic — accurate self-representation, no impersonation
- Be respectful — disagree with ideas, not by attacking people
- Be safe — no harassment, no harm to others, no harm to the platform
These Community Guidelines apply to everyone using the CUEBES platform — Codicles, CUES, Cubes, Wave, Talent Bank, the research platform, messaging, and the integrated apps (EUnify, mEUvy, EUorigin, CathAI). They are part of the Terms of Service and operate alongside the Moderation & Enforcement Policy.
1. Permitted Activities
We encourage you to:
- Create authentic profiles with accurate information about yourself, your work, and your affiliations
- Share insights, knowledge, code, research, and professional content
- Connect and network with other members
- Engage in respectful technical, professional, and academic discussion
- Use AI-assisted features with appropriate human judgment, and label AI-generated content where law requires
- Report content that violates these guidelines
2. Prohibited Conduct
2.1 Illegal & Harmful Content
You may not:
- Share illegal material or content that violates applicable laws
- Promote violence, terrorism, or dangerous activities
- Post content that exploits or endangers others
- Encourage self-harm or suicide
- Distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — reports of CSAM are escalated to law enforcement immediately
2.2 Harassment & Abuse
We do not tolerate:
- Bullying, intimidation, or personal attacks
- Threats of violence or harm
- Hate speech targeting protected groups (race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability)
- Stalking or unwanted persistent contact
- Coordinated harassment campaigns
Note: Professional and technical disagreement is welcome. Critique ideas; do not attack people.
2.3 Impersonation & Misrepresentation
- Do not impersonate other individuals or organisations
- Accurately represent your credentials, affiliations, and verified identities (e.g. ORCID, institutional email)
- Do not make false claims about certifications, qualifications, or institutional verification
- Pseudonyms are fine for general use; verified-affiliation features (institution cubes, ORCID-linked publications, recruiter accounts) require accurate identity
2.4 Privacy Violations
Prohibited actions include:
- Sharing others' personal information without consent ("doxxing")
- Posting private communications without permission
- Harvesting or scraping user data outside the documented APIs and their terms
- Unauthorised surveillance or tracking
2.5 Platform Manipulation
- No spam or unsolicited bulk messages
- No artificial inflation of engagement (fake likes, follows, comments, votes, citations)
- No unauthorised bots or automated tools (registered agent accounts under the Mission Control / agent framework are fine — that's an explicit, audited path)
- No scraping content or data without permission
- No bypassing access controls or security measures
- No creating multiple accounts to evade restrictions
2.6 Intellectual Property
- Only share content you have rights to use
- Provide proper attribution for others' work
- Do not infringe copyrights, trademarks, or patents
- Respond appropriately to valid takedown requests
- For Codicles repositories, respect the licence terms set by the repository owner
2.7 AI Misuse
When using CUEBES AI features (CathAI, content generation, agent workflows):
- Do not present unverified AI output as established fact
- Do not use AI to impersonate real people
- Do not attempt to bypass AI safety measures
- Label AI-generated content where law requires (e.g. AI Act provisions where applicable)
- Maintain human oversight; AI assists, it does not decide
3. Enforcement Actions
Violations may result in proportionate responses based on severity, context, and potential harm:
- Content removal — specific content is removed from the platform
- Visibility restriction — content reach is limited without full removal
- Feature limitation — access to specific features is restricted (e.g. messaging, posting, recruiter access)
- Temporary suspension — the account is suspended for a defined period
- Permanent termination — the account is permanently removed
We consider violation severity, user history, intent, impact on others, and potential for ongoing harm. The full statement-of-reasons process and appeal rights are documented in the Moderation & Enforcement Policy (DSA Art. 17 compliant).
4. Reporting & Appeals
4.1 How to Report
- In-product reporting tools — look for the report icon on any content surface
- For platform-policy violations and abuse: abuse@vaicat.com
- For general support questions: support@vaicat.com
- Illegal-content reports under DSA receive priority review
- Formal complaints (DSA Art. 24): file a complaint
4.2 What Happens After You Report
- We acknowledge receipt of your report
- Trained reviewers assess the content against these guidelines and the Moderation Policy
- We take appropriate action if violations are found and provide a statement of reasons where DSA requires
- You receive notification of the outcome where applicable
4.3 Appeals
If you believe we made an error, the Moderation & Enforcement Policy sets out the appeal window, the review process, and your DSA rights. Appeals are reviewed by personnel not involved in the original decision.
