Right to Restrict Processing (Art. 18)

Freeze the processing of your personal data

1 min read Updated June 9, 2026

Under Article 18 of the GDPR, you have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

What Restriction Means

When processing is restricted:

  • Your account data is preserved but not actively processed
  • You can still access your profile, settings, and data exports
  • You cannot create content, interact (like, follow, vote), or send messages
  • Your data will not be used for recommendations or analytics

When You Can Request Restriction

You may request restriction when:

  • You contest the accuracy of your data (while we verify it)
  • The processing is unlawful but you prefer restriction over deletion
  • We no longer need the data but you need it for legal claims
  • You have objected to processing and are awaiting our response

How to Restrict Processing

  1. Go to Settings > Your Rights
  2. Click "Freeze Processing" under Right to Restrict Processing
  3. Confirm your decision in the modal
  4. Your account will be immediately restricted

Lifting the Restriction

To lift the restriction, contact us at privacy@cuebes.eu. We will notify you before lifting the restriction.
